Just testing the waters to see what's out there as I'm mainly looking for a trade. I'm perfectly happy with the bass, but a potential gig that would require a jazz bass is on the horizon. In most situations, I'd simply just buy another bass, but I'm having my first child on the way (it's a boy), so savings are more in order than another bass.

This bass is brand new and has the updated p-ups and preamp.

Pics can be seen here: http://pg.photos.yahoo.com/ph/mgmir...=&.done=http://photos.yahoo.com/ph//my_photos.

    Specs:
    *Alder body
    *Bubinga top
    *5-piece Maple and Purpleheart neck
    *Purpleheart Fb and tone block
    *Hipshot hardware
    *Very light weight

Let me know what you have...I may consider selling as well.

I can also add some cash for the right bass.

*EDIT: I will also consider 6 string basses as well as jazz pickup configured basses.

*EDIT: I will also consider high wattage amps as well.

  2. Wow, please let me know that you have no interest whatsoever in a Warwick Thumb 5 NT so I can stop drooling over your bass. Thanks! :)

Well, it wasn't what I had in mind as far as jazz p-ups go, but I'll consider anything if the deal is right.

PM me with a little bit more info.

If I didn't have two already, soon to be three, with one more on order and another Skjold "classic" on hold, I might, indeed, go for it! :p

  13. I spent all day getting the idea out of my head and then I came home and looked at those pictures again and the wheels in my head started turning again. Help.

    Here's a bump for a sweet bass.

My Skjold is a whale cut 5 with dual Bartolini J's - it is an awesome bass. I'm sorry you have to part with yours, I love Pete's work.

I'm pretty sure I played that bass a while back at Juan's place. It was a sweet bass, if that in fact is the one. I really dig those Bart slim soapbars.

Yep, this is the one. It is one of the best sounding basses I have ever played. The Bart's with the Ash body make for a killer combo. Just have Pete make you one like this, you would not be disappointed. This is an awesome Jazz bass.

It's been discussed. At some point, I'm going to have Pete build me another bass once the finances are in order.

    Good luck with your search.

For those who are not familiar with Pete Skjold's work, it's top notch.

Someone should grab this bass soon.

I will second that!! I played a couple of his basses in Frisco and everyone was impressive, especially that new single passive pickup with the multiple settings. I almost bought a 4string there but my girlfriend at the time made the argument of needing another bass like a hole in the head. I should have known then it wasn't going to work out. Any hoot, that’s a great bass you have there and they really do play great. Good Luck.

BTW, I have a Fender USA Jazz Deluxe with Duncan Lightning Rods and an Aggie OBP-1 if you need a bass and some cash.

    Halftooth,
Pete's basses are 35" scale? I have a Metro you might be interested in. I have to have 34" scale though. You may remember me you bought my Zon Sonus about a year ago. Let me know.
