I can't wait for this get together! And air conditioning? Pete, you are gonna spoil us!
I hope I can get free for this, so I'll keep an eye out (This thread might get moved to Miscellaneous). I'd enjoy meeting the local TB Brethren.
As for the GTG, I plan on releasing the date officially in a few weeks. So far it will be slated for July 30th. Maybe we can post it up soon ( Embellisher )
So, Pete/Juneau, do you have any other unique photos to share with us?
Not right now I dont. I need to get some pics of the very first Skjold that Pete has at home. It was actually built by another luthier as Pete was hashing out his designs. Its kinda cool to see number 1
You don't see many used Skjold basses out there, but I saw this on Bassgear.com:
FOR SALE: Skjold Custom 5
Posted: : 06/02/2005
Asking Price: $Trade
I'm testing the trade waters to see what's out there.
I have a mint Skjold Custom 5 with the following:
* Ash body
* Highly figured Lacewood top
* 35'scale Maple/Purpleheart neck w/ a 24 fret Purpleheart board
* EMG CS p-ups and 3-band pre w/ sweepable mids
This bass slams, but I'm in the market for something new and different, so let me know what you have. I'm particularly interested in Lulls, Sadowskys, Fbass, Laklands, basicly anything "J Bass" like. As always, I can add cash for the right trade.
FULL NAME: M.G. Mirra
CITY, STATE: Dublin, CA
Wow, thanks for the free plug!
I pretty much need something "J Bass" like right now, and the only way to get would be in a trade. I will have Pete build me another bass at soem point when I have a better financial situation. Pete makes an unbelievable bass, and I think he's about to blow-up big soon.
I didn't know that was you! I remember seeing that bass when it was being built at Pete's shop. The lacewood is mesmorizing.
I'm with you - if I were getting a Skjold bass made, I would love a J bass vibe to it. Pete made a Pro Series bass once - offset ash body, sunburst finish, cocobolo fretboard, and Bart J pickups -- I LOVED that bass! I was just thinking about it the other day.
Does anyone know who owns that bass now? I'll make 'em an offer!
Pictures of the bass in question can be found here:
That bass is for sale at Basses electric-acoustic. I'm sure Juan would take care of you
Sorry all! Let's clarify!!
The link above is for the Lacewood bass for sale on Bassgear.com.
That is all.
Hey , I quoted the wrong thing I was responding to your inquiry of the pro series you liked so much Jon
No problem! I think we're square now.
Got some more goodies to post up tomorrow Stay tuned...
heh, ok I posted the goodies in this thread instead:
I guess my intention with the two threads was this one was for oddities and stuff, like the mandolin. The other thread already had so many of the shop photos that I figured it would be best to continue posting regular visit to the shop photos there instead of here.
I posted new photos in the other thread last week, check em out
Hey guys, keep me in the loop regarding the GTG. I'm still a bass n00b, but I'd love to check it out, put names to faces, and take notes from you all.
Here is the official thread:
