I'm hesitantly putting this bass up for trade, looking for something a little different. I can't really imagine a better modern bass tone than what this puts out. The Dingwall/Skjold SC-1 pickups are monster sounding. Massive and thick with a very detailed high end. Probably the best sounding slap bass that I've ever had. but it also does meaty thick fingerstyle and has a great burpy bridge tone, but with more girth. Super super nice. I'm just not gigging it right now, so I'm curious what else is out there. Skjold Lions Pride Alder body Super duper quilted maple top maple fingerboard 34" scale Skjold/Dingwall SC-1 pickups East SP2 preamp (3 band, each band is frequency adjustable via thumbwheels in cavity - VERY cool) excellent condition, zero issues comes with HSC Hipshot ultralight and A bridge String spacing is 18mm. Nut width is 1 7/8 inches 8.8 lbs with the brass knobs (lightweight rubberized Skjold branded knobs included) frets are in great shape, and bass plays super clean with low action, ala skjold! Will try to get better pics, a weight and bridge spacing ASAP. it is SUPER Light, and balances wonderfully. Trades: I'm picky and probably looking for only a few things.. Will sell outright for $2850 shipped in the CONUS Ken Lawrence Skjold Nordy/Nordstrand exotic F bass BN (pre-2002) {} {} {} {} {} here's a vid of Pete explaining the awesome finish on this bass:
This bass taught me never judge a book by its cover. Alder body, but slamming slap tone. Plus the thickness and warmth that comes with Alder. Pretty incredible. One of the only reasons I'm letting it go is that I realize I prefer 19mm on 5 string basses. This one is 18 I believe
Indeed, Pete is incredibly gifted. If it had an ash body and 19mm spacing, it would be going NOWHERE. It slays, seriously.
Sorry for the delay! Weight is 8.8 lbs with the brass dome knobs. Included are the rubberized Skjold branded knobs which will knock a substantial amount of weight off. So suffice to say, this thing is LIGHT on the neck and HEAVY on the tone.
