Hi guys... Here is a link to my tunes http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=199003749 The song is "Walk Alone".... Any opinions on the bass playing in that beat would be great!!
Hey Steve. Thanks for the feedback. I recorded the bass using the processed sound from my sansamp RBI only and a few others have also suggested the bass is not audible enough in the mix. I did n't want the bass too upfront but I think I need to try recording the bass across two channels with one processed with the RBI and one dry. Then I can experiment with the dry channel and process it again with the RBI and perhaps give the bass a more cutting tone. As it is it became boomy when I turned it up in the mix.... Maybe it is a case of finding the right tone rather than just giving it more level?
Hey morf - good to see you around. Looks like increasing the level by 3dB is the first thing to try then!
I had a hard time hearing the bass, but that could be because I'm on my lap top. I like the sound, for some reason it gives me the creeps... kinda like Zelda on acid in a graveyard. Peace -Benny
NICE! They bass sounds good, as well as the song in general and +1 on the "Zelda on acid in a graveyard" vibe
Yep, grew up on zelda! The song definitely gets a reaction out of me, and that's a good thing. If music can make you feel emotions it's good. Even if it reminded me of the feeling that I got after watching Requiem for a dream for the first time. Peace -Benny
After another listen it kind of reminds me of Kirbys dream land meets Gabby Lala feat Claypool. I'm actually really diggin this. Sorry for the weird relations between the song and video games or other artists, I can't really place my thumb on it. Peace -Benny
I think it's a nice catchy little line that is well presented and grooves. I always appreciate a player that can resist the temptation to go all Wooten every time the thumb comes out.
Been away for a while. Thanks for all your kind comments. It would feel sooo good to have my music as part of a video game.
