Slapping and Popping in One Motion

    If any of you are familiar with incubus' SCIENCE album on the track "Rededfine", the first track, Dirk Lance slaps and pops really fast after the second chorus during a sort of interlude bit. How the feck does he do that. I assume he is slapping and popping in turn but i have no idea how to do it. Any ideas?

    Left hand slapping. Slap a note with your right hand, and hit the fretboard with your hand hard. DO NOT fret a note, just hit the fretboard with your fingers enough to make a ghost note. If to go to www.bassplayer.com and go to the lesson section, Dave LaRue gives some good lessons on how to.
