Does anybody know if some strings are better for slapping than others? if so, then what are the good types?

Roundwounds give a much better slap sound than flats, while the choice between nickel or stainless steel is up to you. Steel is brighter and stays bright, while nickel is less bright and will eventually get thuddy.

i love D'addario prisms for crisp slap, and DR lowriders for deep and low thumpy slap playing.

John Pearse strings. Best rounds on the planet.
  5. I use Ernie Ball regular slinkies, roundwound and I love the bright slap tone I get from them.
