Slough Feg Bass with the Hiwatters @ Buena Vista School 3-Nov-18

Discussion in 'Bass Humor & Gig Stories [BG]' started by Slough Feg Bass, Nov 6, 2018.

  1. My first gig report! let's see if I can do this right.

This was a benefit for my friend's kids school. It is just about 10 blocks from my apartment, and I can use all the other band's gear, so I figure I throw everything in the wagon and walk over there.

Not much traffic when I'm walking on the sidewalk on a sunny saturday afternoon:

    Obligatory selfie while in transit:

I saw this pretty cool painting on my way and decided to stop and take a pic:

Got to the school, it was nice out, the green room area was in a nice hall with a good assortment of food:

And this was the performance space. All the kids loved it.

    I hope I did this right ?

So you strapped the Redhead to your back instead of putting it in the wagon? Interesting choice, lol. :D

The action shot at the end is great!

Great photos. I imagine that's a first, hauling a wagon with a bass and Hula Hoops through the streets of San Francisco.

Excellent cause supporting a school. I'm sure it was a blast. Kids always love live music.

Love your band name too!

    Hi @Slough Feg Bass,

This is just fabulous! I have never commuted to a gig using a wagon. Fresh air, sunshine, a little bit of exercise, food, kids, fun, and music! What a great day. Were the hula hoops part of your choreography?

    Thank you for your indulgence,

    BassCliff

  8. Looks like a fun day, that's the important thing.

And you got a food pic, something that my one and only gig report didn't have. But usually I don't take time to eat before a gig.

  9. I saw that second picture and thought "Hey, that looks like San Francisco." Then I saw your sig. I know that area. I need to get back and visit.

    I very much doubt that.:)
I am a little disappointed though.
Seeing as you brought them specially, I'd assumed you'd be using the hula hops while playing...

Very cool. You couldn't do that here in GA, though. It'd start raining halfway through!!!

  13. The hula hoops are for the crowd. People usually pick them up and start spinning and then they float through the crowd. Once in a while during a drum solo I'll grab one if available and spin for a bit.

It's nice not having to bring amps or PA or anything. I only brought bass, hula hoops, band sign, bubble machine, merchandise. easy gig on a nice sunny day.

Very, very nice. I especially liked the band action shot with the happy sprouts boogie-ing about.
