Despite it's heft, the Crown CE2000 seems to be a better match with the Kern pre than the others I tried (Mackie 1400i, QSC PLX1602 and Stewart World 1.6). Here's a couple of pics with a closeup of the rack:

Do you know a link to the kern preamp website, or somewhere that sells it?

    lol,

my Kern's settings are EXACTLY like yours. great minds think alike.

    Ben,

Henry Kern doesnt deal with stores anymore, and sells his wonderful pre's direct. do a search, and you should find Henry Kern's phone number on this forum.

    Boogie,

That's my favorite 2x10 in that pic. That one's been my main cab for years.

Well, I guess it's my fault! I DID misidentify it as a 310! Joker's right, it's the older, horizontal 212. Sorry for the confusificationariness. :D

Edit: Fixed the picture description. Thx, guys.

That's sweet... that must be a really great sounding rig. What was it that made the crown that much better?

Dunno really. The Crown has more watts, of course. But it just seems to sound better with that pre. Probably psychological! ;)
