After 2 and a half years of faithful service, I bought out my employer Monday. Dave's Music & Pro Audio is now Stu's Music & Sound. I am the boss, and all is good :D

Hey, that's awesome!!! You got more balls than I do. I don't think I could ever own my own business. If it's successful the money could be great but if it failed I'd probably end up putting a shotgun in my mouth.

How did ya manage that? Just called up the boss, and said, "I don't feel like working today." He says, "Well, I really think that's too bad, but I need you to work today." Then you say, "Ahh, I really don't want to. I guess I'll just buy the place."

But, yeah, not really. That is sweet. I would love to work in a music store again, but I can't survive on 6 bucks an hour with a crappy commission plan. PM me what kind of bass (and guitar) stuff you guys carry. I think it could be seen as advertising if you posted it. But the reason why i ask, is I will be needing gear for my band. I'd love to help out a fellow TB'er.

May I ask how you saved enough for that in 2.5 years when you are one year younger than I? By all means, congrats, I'm just impressed and confused.

It's easy. The bank puts a lean on everything you own, takes all the bonds/stocks you have, and gets your first born son in exchange for the money. That's how I did it anyway ;)

  12. Too bad I don't live closer,I need a job:)

    Good luck on the store!

  19. Your own store?

    That's great!

I love to buy stuff through the mail, use it for a couple of days, break it, then return it and say this is the condition I got it in. :rollno:

    Where's your store located? :p :D

Seriously, congratulations on becoming your own boss and much good luck.

    Mike ;)
