Mods: This isn't an ad...just intended to discuss the merits or lack of with this auction. Besides you know me...I'm no spammer and I don't expect to sell a calculator to anyone on TB.

So anyway, I decided to make my latest Ebay auction into a gimmick kind of thing. Yeah, yeah...everyone roll your eyes now all together. I'm just curious to see if this will work to my advantage in any way. I'm going to compare the closing price to the average price for other used TI-82's and see if there's a marked difference. What do you think? I figure if some guy can get 3 million or however many hits by putting on a wedding dress then perhaps some idiotic silliness will work for me too.

I'm asking everyone here to please not make silly, false bids or manipulate the bidding in any way...I'm really interested to see if this gets me anywhere. Thanks.

Oh, good Lord, that was freakin funny!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D

Dude, I am going to be laughing about that for days. That was great. Thank you! :hyper: :bassist: :hyper:

I like the little added note. That works very well. I can't wait to see where it goes.

You have a face that's very condusive to the "really surprised" look you're sporting in the second pic.

I predict that you will get over $2 million for your calculator, just like that dude with the wedding dress.

Cute. I don't doubt you'll get at least one bid.

Wouldn't you be surprised if said bidder won the auction and left you the following positive feedback: "Awesome calculator. The time travel function worked like a charm. Thanks!"

    ;) ;) :D

LMAO great auction...That'll go as far as the antique air guitar.

What if they sue for false advirtisment?

Maybe you should add something more to the title to increase traffic there, something like:
"NOT Fender, Gibson, Musicman, Ibanez, Playboy #1, Action Comics #1, Abraham Zapruder film"

Then I'll just point to the asterisk at the bottom of the description that says "*Actual time travel not possible."

The only bid I've gotten so far are for a pair of casino dice in my other items. Hmm...I'm auctioning off some very random stuff right now because my wife convinced me to clean out all these random boxes and I just decided to try and sell anything that's sellable. Weird the stuff people will buy.

Who here wants to dish out the first bid to get things rollin?
  16. Kinda funny :)

(Checks own TI-82). Nope, no TT function. Just the math addon.

The dice and keychain was better though :) Keychain is prolly your best of them all.

I agree with that...I just wanted to distinguish myself from the rest though. I definitely don't want the kind of attention the wedding dress guy got...that would consume my life I think!

The keychain actually got a bid...whaddya know.

Thanks for the support, everyone. :) It was more fun posting the auctions this way too. That gets tedious sometimes.
