I posted a thread on here about two weeks ago pertaining to my vacation in North Carolina. I didn't end up going to any music stores, but I found this baby in a pawn shop for $850:

what do you figure the value to be? how do you like it so far--what tripped your trigger to get it--a good bargain? (i can;t resist one!) GAS?

Well, they go for $2700 new, but I probably wouldn't pay quite that (for that much, I'd go Stambaugh or something). It needs a setup, but it still plays great and it sounds magnificent. I bought it out of a combination of GAS and knowing that they're very, very rare and this would likely be the only one I'd ever see. I think it was a great bargain, myself. I don't know if I mentioned it in my original post, but I got it for $850.

To quote Roger Daltrey... I'd call that a bargain.

I just got back from vacation in the Carolina's myself 2 weeks ago and it was all I could do not to go into any of the numerous pawn shops I drove by..exactly because I wouldn't have been able to say no to any deal I might have found.
    Awesome bass, congrats!

Nice. I saw one in rougher shape here in CT for about $150 more. The concentric knobs both turned when I tried to turn one... But I loved the feel, sound, and vibe!

Bought the identical bass around '90. Sold it a few years later. I wonder if it is the same one? Good luck
