Looking to buy this used:
Not really digging the black guard though... any other ideas?
Tort might look good.
Brown tort to match the neck. Not red tort.
gold anodized would make it look like a period correct 1958 P.
But I would actally go for mint green, or parchment. It would lighten-up the bass and be fresh and original.
Personally, I would avoid tort because this butterscotch is more of a 50's colour than a 60's colour. i'd only put tort on olympic white, black, or 3 tone sunburst.
just my 2 cents.
I vote brown tortoise shell.
go for a bright pink hello kitty one, that would look awesome...
but really, id go for a brown pick guard
I'd leave it like it is, or mint green.
It won't be "period correct" anyway since it has a 13-screw pickguard.
I think the '58 had a maple neck, I think rosewood was '59 or '60. This butterscotch finish is neither '50s or '60s. I have that same bass, white or parchment actually look really gross. Tort actually looks awesome, and the black looks good too. Add a chrome bridge and pickup cover set, and Bob's yer uncle.
yea i really want the pup covers mainly.
Pickgaurd? We don't need no stinking pickguard!
