so i've been trying string life...

    loved the idea. used it for some pre-recording recordings, and for our actual recording. held up pretty good, didnt change the sound or anything.

    put it to the real test, which was playing a show. considering i would get a lot more sweaty, hit the strings a lot harder, i figured if it worked here, they would work for anything.

    35 minutes set killed the strings. well didnt kill, but the tone is just dull and flat, even after i re apply the string life(which is supposed to give them more life) but it did not.

    looks like i'm going back to elixir.

    Well, I'll repeat that my experience with Stringlife was disappointing as well. Money down the drain, as far as I'm concerned.

    Go denatured alcoholize yr. strings now :eek:
  4. Well, it can't be any worse that Elixers which have a dead sound right of the box. I second the notion of denatured alcohol.

    see, only bad thing i have had with elixir is that if i play really hard the coating starts to flake. they are never dead right out of the box for me.
