I've discovered that living in San Francisco can be tough if you don't have a small amp for gigs and auditions. So I am going to break down and buy a Walkabout. My only question is... what color?

That snakeskin is so Boogie retro! I love it! But having a purple suede would be so nice... or maybe a brown lizard with a wicker grille? Aargh! Too many choices!

Mmmm. That "Hazlenut Lizard w/ Tan Grille" Scout in the Mesa gallery looks really nice:

Hey, do these custom finish options cost extra?

Go with the quilted maple, and pewter grille.

I've been considering doing the hardwood thing alot actually. I've been leaning towards bubinga with a black grille. Only problem is that I can see this amp will be moved around alot, and I would hate to get that beautiful bubinga all bashed up.

Yeah, it does cost extra, but who cares? We bassists spend thousands on getting cool looking instruments, and then just plug it into a plain old boring black box. The whole reason we play bass is to look cool, right? Why not have the other half of our instrument look hip too?

I would love a Walkabout Scout in Babinga with a wicker grill. That would look so classy. You really would need a high quality padded cover though. Even the thought of a scrape on that piece makes me shudder.

Well, I could probably pull some strings to get one in hardwood if I decide to go that way ;)

I seem to remember the custom finishes being $200 extra.
