This is all I have to share right now. I was fortunate to sub with the "Rhondavous Band" Rhondavous Band last night @ Filly's Roadhouse in Apache Junction. Apache Junction is a town that time forgot and still has a few good ole Honky Tonks with live music. It is also located at the base of the Superstition Mountains of the Lost Dutchman Mine fame.

The drive to Filly's was nice, overcast with very light traffic.

Eastbound from Phoenix the Superstitions on the left (still learning the skill of taking a photo and driving, I usually spill my rum and coke when I do this):

Made it safely. Here is the front of the joint.

They have a really cool patio out back with a stage. Found some friends playing this afternoon.

From the patio a view of the Superstition Mountains:

From the front parking lot a nice AZ sunset:

A few shots of inside and set up. The drummer was also a sub from "The Harry Luge Band" Harry Luge Music

And we make some music. Excellent band with great musicians, Rhonda Street and Jim Powell.

And a couple of dance pics, not quite the crowd at Gilley's but a really cool night for me.

    Thanks for taking a look.

  2. Most of us don't get the Gilley's for Vegas gigs.

But it looks like a good time, and that's all you can ask for right?

    Cool review, thanks for sharing!

Cool place. Looks like a fun gig! I'm particularly jealous of the no snow, shirtsleeves thing this time of year!

Judging by the contour of your hood, I'll guess you drive a newer Silverado...... the perfect ride to a gig at a honky tonk. :D

    Hi Mark,

What a pretty place for a gig. Is the name of that other band "Chicken and Ribs"?

I'm glad you were able to share with us. I enjoy a good Roadhouse when I get a chance.

    Thank you for your indulgence,

Great report. I'd go for a gig out there, Arizona rocks. We were outside this weekend too, but it was just barely above coat/sweater temperature until the sun went down and it dropped about 15 degrees making for a real hustle getting loaded out. What kind of music do you guys play? Any video?

Is it really a Roadhouse with a Prius parked outside?

Hey, thanks for posting! Great shots of some beautiful country. (...and Western, I presume!). Nice rig you got there, too. In fact, downright outstanding altogether!

I was a great time, really enjoyed it.

This is why people flock here in the winter. The summer is brutal.

    It was a blast.

Good eye! Traded in my 06 for a new one this year.

Thanks! Rhonda plays a wide variety of country and classic rock. She has some video and audio up on her band website, but no video of this gig.

HA! Must have been the cooks...

    Thank You!!

Thank you Cliff! I think they are “The Best Chicken and Ribs”. And we didn’t have any Roadhouse bar fights either!

Looks like a cool gig, I laughed at the Tip Boot. Anytime you have the audience up and dancing, you're doing your job well !

I love that it's right at the foot of the Superstition Mountains too. What a spooky background that is !

Just take a few Xanax or something before hand to loosen up your photo/drink hand and keep your steering knee steady.

I like how the stage has a place to hang your bass or guitar. Nice report!

    Thanks for sharing, Mark!

Ole dude went straight left with the one-arm dosie doe, then followed up with the 'nether region gangsta' slapalot...

    ... I'm seeing a '10', but the French judge is giving him a '7.2'...
