I guess some 15 year old is pissed with TB.... Talkbass.com -- A JOKE Talkbass.com -- A JOKE (Seattle) If you are a real bassplayer, Talkbass.com is a waste of time. If you are a wannabee playing the role while you hide behind the Internet, it's perfect for you. I've been thrown off there 5 times for posting that, given a sound instrument, it's the player not the instrument. DUH. The stinking troll who owns the site just wants to make money selling advertising and can't play at all. So he doesn't care if you can. He just wants numbers, and won't make you identify yourself so that others can check and see if you are what you say you are. He can't play the bass because he's too busy hunting for real bass players to throw off his forums to practice. Bruce Burhans
I admin a military and law enforcement forum. People have gone so far as to post stuff to Youtube to whine about how they aren't the special little snowflake that doesn't need to comply with the rules that they believe themselves to be.
IBTL Bruce isn't a very good speller, but he did alright in that. I can't agree with him though, or that would make me a poser.
I typed "Bruce Burhans" into Google and it suggested adding "Bellingham", which I know is near Seattle. And this was the first result: The Bruce Burhans Game | My Greenpeace Buddies If one poster is to be believed, the fellow mentioned in the link plays upright bass. Disclaimer: I have absolutely no idea if this is the same person, just found the coincidences interesting.
The Bruce I found on FB seems to be involved with a band, but his spelling isn't as good as that in the OP.
+1 I'm a mod on another forum and we ban IP address, email address and username (mainly for spammers but we have had a few $#1t stirring members who have been thrown off).
Having been banned myself once (I earned it) I can tell you that this is a tightly-run ship. Ha ing visited other sites it is my opinion that is a good thing. Your freedom of speech rights protects you from government intervention in expression. Private entities, such as TalkBass, can filter you however they wish. Again, having visited other sites and seen what they get away with over there, I'll take this over that any day. You think we get unfriendly here? Not hardly.
