A year ago, I started a band called The Odyssey. I'd just quit two of my previous bands and thought it was now time to start the band I'd always wanted: no nonsense hard rock with two other guys that would be heavily influenced by bands like Led Zeppelin, Wolfmother and Soundgarden. And so it happened. On November 27th, 2014, The Odyssey had its first rehearsal. On November 27th, 2015, we released our first EP and music video. The vid: You can check out the EP, called "Memories of a Long Forgotten Kingdom" on Spotify. I wonder what you think, and please spread the word! Oh, and gear used by me on the recordings: Fender Road Worn P --> Radial Bassbone --> Technophobia Bassscreamer --> BBE Opto Stomp --> Aguilar AG500SC + Aguilar DB112 cabinets & vintage Ampeg SVT with Ampeg 8x10.
Wow, I don't really like too much new music but I like that! Great sound, good video. Seriously, this is better than ANYTHING they're playing on Philadelphia's alternative station 104.5!
If you guys ever come to the US I'll be there in a heartbeat with as many friends as I can drag along. Really fantastic stuff.
Hah, thanks! Well, why not pass this on to them? I hope we'll make it to the States someday! We're working on a new album ATM but who knows after that...?
Crikey, thanks for all the responses guys! While you're at it, check us out on Facebook and spread the word
A little update: we're currently working on a video for the opening track of the EP, "The Journey", which will feature a '71 Oldsmobile Cutlass. And there's this: A track off our upcoming album which we will start recording in April.
