For no apparent reason I was thinking about what could or would Ampeg come up with next.
An all tube D.I. or an BA series extension cabinet for the BA-210, or something else?

So, for those interested in Ampeg-gear, here's an Ampeg New Gear Launching Poll!
With a possible new feature in every Ampeg product category.
What do you think will be the new hit, what would you like yourself?

With a salute to @SactoBass , I have included his idea, the 200 Watt all tube power amp in the Pro section.

Hope you will enjoy this thread, just for the fun of it. :)

    EDIT: I missspelled SactoBass

Would just like to point out that I don't have a clue about any new products, so don't ask. I find out about them the same time you guys do. And usually, one of you finds out sooner.

I’d like to see the Portaflex cabs equipped with Speakon connectors, instead of those stupid 1/4” connectors.

As long as they keep the 1/4" too, I'm down with that. But I can easily tell my speaker cables from my instrument cables, and 1/4" jacks don't require me to think how to plug them in and out :D

Well yeah, I was among the first to have one, but the news leaked out on here 2 weeks before I got it, and I found out about it from the thread. I'm telling you...there are some people on here who just don't miss a trick. A website pops something up for 10 minutes as a test of a page, next thing you know, there's a thread on here with a screen capture of it.

Well you are a social influencer and you should know ahead of time.
Like many here I have bought a lot of Ampeg because of you. Seriously.

Be fun if they started making instruments again.

They could contract with @mapleglo to be a design consultant.

Good idea...how about a reissue AEB or an AUB? Better yet... the reissue Devil Bass.

Who ya got? For those basses, I've always thought the world's foremost expert is Bruce Johnson, but if you know someone else who's into them as well, I'd like to hear about her.

EDIT: Or was it a joke about your ex-girlfriend and Devil basses and I'm a little slow on the uptake?

EDIT 2: I see you mentioned Mapleglo. She's pretty creative from what I've seen, no doubt. Does she build basses, too?

Thx man...really hope you enjoy the stuff. Ampeg has been awesome with me and I have no complaints about them not cluing me into new products before everyone else. At least I get some of them before everyone else :D

That's the one although not my GF past or present. Just a web pal - and yes indeed. She did that spectacular devil bass inspired project.

I'd like to see a 6x12 or 6x15 version of the fridge.

    But I'm a 6'3 monster with 8 billion muscles.

Plus I wouldn't be able to complain about how "dem toobs" aren't worth their weight.

I voted "other" as I think it would be awesome to see a 10-20 watt "mini SVT" with a couple 12ax7's in the preamp, one or two 6550's in the power amp, a cab simulator with level control to the DI and maybe a 10" speaker for low-level practicing and to handle a speaker load. It's the size of two shoeboxes and finally gives us all a way to get that Ampeg SVT & 8x10 tone through the FOH.

However, I'd also be thrilled to see Ampeg start a lightweight Neo speaker line of their cabs...

A 610 heritage would be great ! Also an improved or upgraded version of the SVT4: A real compressor like the one you can find on Mesa amps, an HPF, an instrument input on the back of the amp for wireless units...

A 200w SVT sounds pretty enticing. But I would love it if they re-released the Rocket Bass series of amps again. But in a higher power so I could actually gig it! Like a 300/400w ver of the B50 or 100R, that would be so awesome!! And then run the DI between the speaker cab and the amp. And instead of a single woofer, make it a double like a 212 or 210, hell, even a 410. I'd be in heaven!

But I know that'll never happen. So I would settle for a 200w SVT ;)

  19. I would love for Ampeg to put out a tube 200 watt SVT-style amp- a great midway point between the V4B and Full on SVT.

Heck, they did something similar with the V4BH (SVT-like pre with a power section similar, but not exactly like a V4B).

Then again, I'm wishing they never got rid of the SVT-2 non-pro or the SVT-300, or the V4BH (now that I have the money!)!

I'd actually like to see an updated version of the SVT7Pro. Smaller and lighter and made in the USA.
