I guess I'll take that as a compliment Anyway, it's fine. I don't get commissions.
This too, has already happened BTW.
Okay ... I didn’t know that. So... Ampeg, bring on the reissue Baby Bass!!
My 2nd Devil bass build:
White Neckthrough Devil Bass by mapleglo posted Sep 26, 2017 at 4:49 PM
The build thread is here. If you read through, you'll see I've started a third. I can't seem to stop...
I would like to see a Micro-VR head with the PF500 preamp while retaining the current power amp. Micro-VR-V2?
Extremely impressive, MG!
If Ampeg came out with a 200 watt SVT-VR head, I would be all over that! (especially if it weighed around 60 pounds instead of the SVT's weight at 80 pounds).
I would also love to have an Ampeg rackmount 200 watt all tube power amp that I could use with my favorite rackmount preamp!
Both of those products would need to have iron power and output trannies for me to be interested (no SMPS).
IMHO, those two products would be home runs for Ampeg!
Discontinuing the 410HLF.
He mentioned the Devil Bass, and said he knows just the woman for the job of making them again. So I of course thought "devil" and "woman" and made an ex-girlfriend crack. I thought it was pretty obvious
Another Micro-VR idea: add a midrange rocker like on the V4B so you could boost or cut at one of the 3 selected frequencies. Don't know if there's room to squeeze it in though.
Why stop at three, when you can go all the way to five?
To me the rocker switch feels more VR vibe.
Sorry - it was not obvious to me who he was talking about, but I could see that you did! It's usually the obvious things that escape me first!
And instead re-issuing an 810 flatback, yeah! \m/
Or an 810 with convertible back; square to flat
Here's an idea. There seems to be alot of love for the all-tube PF-50T, but I have read a number of comments from some TB'ers that they don't care for the "Darth Vader" look. So, an idea is, produce an all-tube 50 watter (same circuitry as the PF-50T) but have the exterior of the amp look like the Ampeg SVT Micro VR head.
And also, take the SVT VR micro cabs (the sealed ones) and deepen them a bit (to match the depth of one of the inner chambers of the Heritage fridge cab) and have them come with the same drivers that come in the Heritage fridge cab.
What a sweet rig *THAT* would be! (IMO)
--> Wanted: Ampeg Heritage SVT-210E
You know, it could be done.
The head looks a bit like the GVT series head.
So, Ampeg wouldn't have to do too much (re)designing.
(says I with zero building experience).
Anyway, again, love those thoughts!
Absolutely YESSSSS!!! A USA-made Ampeg "Micro" Heritage SVT rig (where the head has 8-ohm and 4-ohm taps so that you could run just one of those cabs or a pair of those cabs.) And with the post-transformer DI out, just like the PF-50T currently has.
And the cab is an *EXACT* match (depth, etc.) to one of the inner chambers of the Heritage fridge cab, with the same speakers as the Heritage fridge cab.
*TOTALLY* cool! I would definitely buy such a rig (one head and a pair of cabs) in a heartbeat!
And how many watts, then?
A crazy 50 watts tube amp, with a switch to 25 watts (like the B15R and the Heritage B15N more or less)
That would be great: home practice and medium volume gigs...
I'm going to throw this crazy idea out there. A 50 watt tube head for the 2/10 Heritage cab, that has a built-in 800 watt class D amp. All purpose - home, medium gigs, and all out arena rock and roll.
