  1. i found a Genz 200 watt combo amp with a 15" speaker for $550-600 brand new and i think my quest for a bass amp is over. if i can find one used, twill be quite perfect. BUT i figured i should go to you guys first, am i making a mistake?

I had the 12" version of that combo (ML200-112T) and it's a good amp. Very clear and "hi-fi".

I sold it when I moved to separates.

I had 2 issues with it:
#1 the DI was noisy and unusable for me
#2 the 200W is obtained by bridging two smaller power amps. So you can't add a single cabinet and get more than 200W (the bridged mode handles 8 Ohms only). You get 2 100W @ 4 Ohm power amps when not bridged. So it wasn't as nice as, say a GK400RB combo, for adding additional speakers.

Other than that it was good equipment that sounded great and did everything I ever asked of it without a problem.
