Discussion in 'Pickups & Electronics [BG]' started by Jublian, Sep 25, 2004.

  1. :help: I'm most likely going to buy a J&D five string from a friend
the problem with it is that it buzzes quite a bit so i think the electronics need to be replaced.

i was wondering since its an asian made guitar and the electrics were'nt spectacular i should probably replace the pickups

what type should i get? i was thinking mighty mite but i haent heard good things about them.

anotehr possibility is bartolinis but considering soapbars cost around US$90 each they would cost around AU$300.

A much cheaper solution is to properly shield that control and pickup cavities. Most likely you will eliminate the buzz and it will cost much less if you are able to do the work yourself.

  3. How do you do that?!

Either with shielding paint or copper foil. There are some good sites on the web if you do a quick search.
