I say soda.
and ohio. When I was visiting family there this summer, I asked where they kept the soda, as everybody had one. They immediately replied "...soda?... uhh... OH!!! you mean pop!"
Coke and soda.
Coke. But I'll take a soda too.
I am from Milwaukee.....where it is SODA!!!!
My kids grew up in Minneapolis and Chicago....they mostly call it Soda, but they do say "pop" once in a while.....
I have heard it said that in some areas, "Soda" comes in bottles and "pop" comes in cans....
to all you Texans, what do you order when you want a Cherry Coke? If you say "Cherry Coke" do you get a Cherry Soda or a Cherry Cola? what a predicament!
Also - the real test - what is a "bubbler" (if you are a cheezhead you cannot answer!!!!!)
PS - the first time I ordered a "soda" in Chicago I got a glass of seltzer water! yuck!
Around here it's:
"What kind of coke do you want?"
"I'll take a Sprite."
