What, if any, soft synths do you guys use? I'm thinking about picking one up, but not sure what to get. I'm looking for something fairly flexible, but it doesn't necessarily have to be modular or anything. I just want something that sounds good. So please, name your favorite toys.

Reason is an impressive program. As many soft synths, samplers, drum machines, loop players and sequencers as your computer can handle. It's besically it's own virtual midi studio. I've also heard the Native Instruments stuff is pretty awesome.
  4. for weird sounds : Buzz
for funky effects : Fruity Loops

    For everything else : Serenity SR01 ( copyright (c) 2001 the AllodoX )

    Everything by Native Instruments rocks.

Reaktor, B-4, Pro-52 and the new Absynth are absolutely great.

Tassman, VAZ, TC Works Mercury, there's so many great synths out there.
