Help! I've just started learning this amazing instrument, but i just can't find the way to tune my bass. So i was hoping if anyone of you guys knows of any software i can use to help me tune it. I dont care if its just the recorded sounds of the tuned strings, it might help me a little bit. Thanks

Gab, My advice is to just spring for an electronic tuner. You can get a perfectly usable for less than $20.00. I used the same one for 5 or 6 years with no problems.

Since you are just starting out, you will have enough problems without adding tuning problems. Most beginners have a problem tuning a bass because thier ear hasn't developed to the point where they can really hear those low notes well enough to accurately tune by ear.

I have seen a site that has reference tones for tuning but I can't, for the life of me, remember whwere I saw it. Maybe someone else can help you.

you can find such freewareprograms all over the net .
If you search hard enough ; this wil take much time and will
be frustrating because at the end of the day you''ll get your tuner or whatever you seach for, but you haven't played your bass YET ! :) so these links might be something or .. not
I haven't tried it out ! and I never will!! I use an Cromatic tuner from BOSS , it not *THAT* expencive .
( I don't know the price overthere )but it is a pedal and goes well whith my others..

so I wouldn't spend that much time in online stuff etc.

    I think this will do.

  4. on http://www.activebass.com there is a little javascript app. with the sounds of basic tuning (E-A-D-G) there are some tuners for cpu´s (there´s one in Cakewalk) but you have to pay for all I´ve seen and it´s often more expensive(and MUCH more trouble usingg) than an electric tuner...
