  1. Here we have one helluva bass at one helluva price. I'm going to let someone steal it from me because I need to stay on my consolidation plan.

    This is Valenti #6 and long-time TB'ers are very familiar with it. I just had this bass professionally cleaned up/tuned up/set up and it plays like BUTTA. :cool:

    There are three minor cosmetic issues with the bass that I'll talk about later.

    First of all here are the specs:

    * Birdseye Maple neck
    * Alder body
    * Nordstrand pickup
    * Aguilar OBP-1 preamp (with active/passive pull-pot)
    * Passive Tone control (Works in active or passive mode -- think Sadowsky VTC)
    * Hipshot tuners
    * Gotoh bridge
    * Jazz-width neck (1.5 inches @ the nut)
    * 9.75 lbs
    * Strung with LaBella Deep Talkin' Flats
    * Straplocks installed
    * Includes the Sadowsky-style soft/hard case.

    The bass is like Jekyll-Hyde. In passive mode, it plays like the sweetest P-Bass you ever heard. When you switch into active mode, the Aggie kicks in and it roars! This bass is the real deal.

    I am selling this bass because I need to get down to one 4-string and I really need a P/J configuration. I'd strongly considered having it routed for a J-Pup at the bridge but I just don't have the heart to do it. I'd rather she stay in her original configuration.

    Now to the issues:

    1) There is a ding at the g-string edge of the fretboard at the 8th fret. Doesn't affect playability but it's there.

    2) There is a minor ding in the headstock.

    3) There is an un-photographable indentation in the body just above the pickup. (It's about half the size of a grain of rice)

    Besides that, you have the normal surface swirling that comes with a black bass that's been played.

    And that's it. (Not a trace of buckle-rash!)
