Soloing over Giant Steps

    I dabble in trumpet playing a little and ran across this video while surfing over in TrumpetHerald. You don't have to play trumpet to get something from this. There are 3 tonal (key) centers and you use just 4 notes in each. Good insights for any soloist.

    Of course this isn't the only way to skin the cat, but it is one (relatively) easy way.

    Key centers are good and all but I like sifting through it in 12 keys. :ninja:

    Very clever! It's far from a comprehensive answer to improv but it's a great way to quickly orient yourself to a new piece. Another arrow in my quiver. :)
