Quick question folks, When someone refers to "soloing the PUPs", do they mean playing with the right hand over a particular PUP, or electronically switching one off and playing in your normal right hand position? Thanks. Mike
yep, you got it right the second time - "soloing a pick-up" means to play with only one of them cranked and the other(s) completely off. a lot of bassists like to solo their back or bridge-placed pups, particularly for slapping.
Are they really that many, as in "a lot"? The only one I can think of right now is Mark King, maybe Jonas Hellborg. Most slapping I've heard is done with 50/50 blend, or at least close to it.
of all the nit-picking muthas .. a lot that i know (my teacher does it a lot on his Kubicki, i do it with my Spector, a whole slew of other guys i know like to treb up their sound for it) do, but is it really something to argue over? there are starving children out there. share some of your oysters with them. man.
Hey tones, on a completely different subject, my Principal thinks im a major racist cause I like Oi, and I wear my Oi! shirt occaisionally. He wont sign *any* recommondation letters because of it, its really a problem, but its ok, I just ask the Vice Principal.
what the hell's wrong with "Oi!" ??? your principal is obviously a dickhead, man - wear that shirt and tell him to get stuffed Oi!
