soloing

    i've been playing for a year now and i want to be able to solo like a guitarist, only on a bass. does anyone know any good left-hand speed techniques?

    Tapping(right handed technique) Fast hammer on/pull off/triplet stuff, Tremelo-ing, work on playing fast I suppose, unless you wanna play whole note solos, like some bands I've heard of.... ;)

    try to play guitar solos on your bass. i tried this and its pretty fun actually.

    Well ....just learn the blues scale and keep going up and down as fast as you can! ;)

    yup, nothing to it, 'cause if you ask any non-musician listener at a concert or something, they'll say that anything that comes out of a bass sounds cool, and if the bass player is good, it sounds even better. So just being a bassist has its advantages over guitar, which you must be incredible to be noticed, at the least, which can take nearly 10 to 20 years of playing to accomplish.

    all i asked for was tips on improving left hand speed. i know how to play the frickin thing, i'm just trying to see if anyone can help me get better. is that a problem?
