Some advice on getting stickers made.

Discussion in 'Band Management [BG]' started by Spirit of Ox, Jun 18, 2019.

  1. Hi,
My new band has our first gig lined up for August. I want to get stickers made that have our logo (which I need to create), Facebook page, Reverbnation page, and email address.
Can I have some advice on how to successfully do this? There are tons of sites that make stickers but I would like some feedback on which to use, avoid, and some general advice on creating a logo and having the decals made.
Thanks in advance for any help!

I tried CaféPress and wasn't completely happy.
VistaPrint has been excellent for the stuff they offer, IME

4Over is a commercial printer with production sites in several states. Requires someone to have a ‘resale’ tax id. They produce commercial grade products, in quantity with reliable good quality. You have to design the image with bleeds, design image is larger and all must see parts within a safety distance from edge and use CMYK color schemes in PDF or similar Abobe format (not RGB Jpg).

Circular images have a tendency to drift, vinyl stickers are the most durable and expensive. I like the UV coated paper, cheaper and look good.

As far as putting all that information on the sticker, I'd skip it. Everyone has google, unless your bands name is something completely generic like Free, Bread, or Love... they'll easily find your page.

As far as the logo itself, it should be a simple design that scales down to sticker size well, and easy to read. Complicated artsy stuff is great for posters and banners but not so much stickers. All the info you want can go on it if it isn't a tiny sticker.

Another vote for Vistaprint. I've had stickers, cards, etc. made for my old band.

  8. What's the name of your band? I might take a crack at drawing up a logo if inspiration hits.

  9. The name of the band is Zygote. If you come up with something, that would be great and you will get credited for it.

This was my first thought. WAY too much information for a sticker. Maybe if you want to slip the Facebook logo on there, fine. But three lines of data regarding how to get up with you will ruin whatever graphic you come up with..... unless your graphic is a flushing toilet and the words are in the swirls.

The sticker needs to have glue in one of the sides.

One small line at the bottom with website or Facebook page. They can go there in ten seconds if they want more.
