Some Classical Guitarists does, Fretless BG used vertical like DB or Cello

I saw few classical guitarists plays their instrument like an cello.
Is there fretless BG ist who plays like a cello or double bass VERTICAL.

I play my thumb rested at side of 24th fret. I learned this cause injuries.

I thought vertical playing can use more finger area at right hand and plays fast with 3 fingers.
