Some guys are not cut out to sing the blues
IDK, maybe he's singing phonetically since it's not his native language? I've heard much worse!
Alot of people shouldn't try to sing James Brown.
I didn't click the YouTube link, but fwiw I agree with the original premise: Some guys are not cut out to sing the blues.
The example I usually give is comparing Robert Cray to BB King. When I first heard Robert Cray he was singing some cliched line like "I've got the blues" and I immediately felt like something was off. It didn't ring true. It didn't sound sincere. I literaly said to myself "He's lying, he doesn't have the blues!" And then coincidentally not long after that first exposure to Robert Cray I heard a BB King track on the radio, and he didn't even sing, he just played a couple notes on his guitar, and I immediately said to myself "He's got the blues!"
^^^ has also heard much worse
The clip is a riot! Thanks for the laugh....just what I needed!
Is that a vintage Acoustic head I see?
I agree, and I usually blame this dude:
Blame him for what? I don't follow.
