I saw this on the news last night:

Appeals court rejects claim of injured M's fan.

This lady and her husband found an attorney to take the case! I can't believe it. They interviewed the lady last night, and she was talking about how she is emotionally scarred for life from the incident. Dork!

I know we have some legal pro's around here. What do you guys think? Would you have taken this case? What would you go after the Mariners for?

I'm no lawyer, but I find it odd that the team PR didn't handle it any better. Last fall, a kid was hit by a puck in the middle of a Finnish Championship League hockey game and suffered a minor concussion.

I think his family got a free tickets to the homegame a couple of weeks later, and hint that the kid might want to come to the hall couple of hours before - he got to shoot some pucks with the goalie and one of the top forwards for a moment and take a autographed stick with him.

For a more current case, I'm sure the guy who got hit in the face with a basketball will go after KG of the MN Timberwolves.

He idiot, you have court-side seats. Pay attention!

I got hit with a puck at a Toledo Storm game. It made me spill my beer. They didn't even get me a new beer. Bastards.

The real problem was that you were at a Toledo Storm game. Who suck.

  11. I think they had a legitimate case. Foul balls during the game are an assumed risk. Balls thrown at you before the game is not an assumed risk. If they want people to forfeit any chance to sue if they are injured they should make sure that people know that not only can you get hit by a foul ball during the game but anytime you are in the arena you are at risk.

  13. Back in my freshman year, when I still played soccer, I was trying to retake the ball from the opposing team, they had the ball and were going for it. I managed to get infront of the ball and gave it my hardest kick , directed outta bounds. Coach got that ball right in the face, bloody nose and all. We lost that game and I got a nice 500 pushups the next day at practice.

I used to drink that in college. I thought they went out of business.

Used to be a buck for a 40 oz bottle.
Two of those and you were set for the night.

The bottom line is that this lady assumed all risks associated with attending a baseball game. Read the disclaimer in size .05 font on the back of the ticket, dork. :meh:

Life is tragic. Maybe they figured you'd be happy keeping the puck. :)
