i have a show on NYE and we are going to over the following tunes... i plan on learning the songs by ear, and working them out myself but does anyone have any good advice/tabs for the following songs? 1) little feat - spanish moon 2) grateful dead - one more saturday night 3) rolling stones - gimme shelter 4) u2 - until the end of the world i'd really appreciate it, thanks
one more saturday night is: e string- fret 5 (A), a string- fret 4, fret 7. basically Root, 3rd, fifth in A, then the same in D. which is: a string- 5th fret, d string- 4th fret, 7th fret. does this make sense? it just kinda repeats throughout the song, then has some variations, as all of Phil's stuff does. good luck, hope that helps
which recording are you talking about man? one more saturday night is in Cmaj.. all of phils stuff is off of C that A is wrong, check your ears
I would also like to see a tab or transcription for Spanish Moon. Kenny Gradney lays down a killer groove, especially on the live version from the Waiting for Columbus LP. Not much Little Feat stuff out there at all.
the only recording i have of this song is the Live one, and they play it in Dbmin its a pretty easy groove to learn by ear actually. i think on the album version andy hess (great bass player check him out) might have had a hand in writing that groove. It so, i also think the album version is in Dmin, they drop it down for the vocal range..
Andy Hess plays in Gov't Mule. Gov't Mule is great but, Spanish Moon first appears on a Little Feat album in 1974. How old was Andy Hess in 1974. This song was written by Lowell George. Kenny Gradney played bass on that original studio recording and the live Waiting For Columbus album that came out in '78.
oops! my bad, i was tabbing "turn on your lovelight" for some reason, my ears are fine, thanks bub. maybe i should check my eyes though
