It is real.

I couldn't tell you the band but the bassist likes his 2 stringers.

 

seen that a while back...I think someone said it might be a photoshop.

 

It's real. The guy's name is Stig and he plays in a Danish band called D-A-D. He's got a couple other bizarre instruments, too.

 

it must sound great through that speaker stack, i used to have a pair of leather pants just like those.......a very long time ago

 

Weird, the pic looks pshopped. There seems to be some white "I did a bad job cutting this out" marks around the bodyheadstock thing. Must just be weird glare.

And by the way: DAD = Disneyland After Dark, but due to legal matters it's just DAD now.
