Something- Beatles isolated bass..what bass is used?

    The op says jazz but I always thought it was the hofner.

    Bass Player Mag says '65 Rickenbacker 4001S
    There is no definitive answer on this. Consensus seems split between Rickenbacker 4001S & the Hofner.

    If you made me say one or the other, I'd go Ric because I think those high notes wouldn't be as in tune on the Hofner.

    +1. IMHO, part of the Höfner's "charm" is its crappy intonation moving up the neck. It's very evident on early Beatles stuff, yet not evident here.

    These pics prove nothing definitive, but I believe he had ditched the Hofner for the AR sessions. As I don’t have Lewisohn’s book in front of me right now; my ears vote Ric...

    ...and George had to come in to clean up some tracks, but most of those were leftovers from earlier in the year that ended up on LIB.

    Thoughts on I want you (she’s so heavy)? Because that also sounds like hofner to me. I mean he really just sounds like Paul no matter what bass
