  1. Here's four of eight tracks that was recorded live one late evening in januari 2006. (some accordeon and percussion was added later). FOI the recording was made with a late 1970 Tokai Jazz (PJ) direct in the board, the double bass was recorded with one mono condenser mic placed between the G-side f-hole and strings.

Hey, great sound. Who are some influences?

  3. Thanks!

The last five years I haven't done much on electric - although I really like playing it. As I do 99% percent on double bass and tuba I find the EB to be more of a ferrari with a lot of possibilitys to play fast:smug: .

I've always played on jazz basses. One year ago I bought the Tokai on Ebay, which is a great instrument. It has not the personality of my 74' fender, but much lesser weight = no more back problems from long gigs.

My earliest influences on EB was gigants such as studio bassist james jameson, jaco, anthony jackson, marcus miller etc. Soundwise the two latter has certanly influenced my sound (jazz bass with all knobs turned full). On double bass my all time favorite are haden and mingus.
