My school's homecoming is in a week (I'm going to a different one) and a friend of mine asked me to make a mix for him to play on his date (he REALLY likes the girl he's going with). I was just wonder what songs to put on the disc. He said that anything would be cool, so that should make it more interesting. Any and all suggesstions are welcome.

I've already picked the last two songs for it though, just in case something goes wrong for him:

"Like a Rolling Stone" - Bob Dylan
"Song for the Dumped" - Ben Folds Five

  2. You want the White Barry.

  9. You could try some Jeff Buckley, "Last Goodbye" "Hallelujah" and "Grace" come to mind. And the Verve have a couple of singles worth trying.

On a side note, my friend's girlfriend used to get really scared when he played her Pink Floyd, "Hey you" and "Comforably numb" in particular got her real bad. Just a thought.

Remy Shand, Barry White, Isaac Hayes, Sade, Tony Bennett, Josh Groban.

One caveat: How old is the young lady in question? What woman considers to be romantic, another might think was dullsville and another might think was too obviously a ploy to seduce.

Thanks for all the help guys!

Boplicity, she's 17 and isn't the brightest girl in the world. She probably wouldn't even notice the trend on the CD. At least that's what her ex-boyfriend told me 2nd period. ;)

I'm just hoping my buddies plan doesn't completely blow up in his face. That's what happened to a couple of guys I know during junior prom. The following Monday was pretty funny from my POV.
  13. here's the thing: if a girl likes you, she likes you. if she doesn't, the songs playing in the background aren't going to change it. so just put on some nice fun songs that she might enjoy and don't think too much about it.
  14. Aww, but coming up with silly suggestions is so much more fun!

That's what his older brother said. I've been completely neutral in the whole thing and am just making him the CD. The thing is, my friend hardly listens to ANY music whatsoever. I guess he's just trying to "be sure" he does this "right". He always has been that kind of guy.

Anything by Al Green or Barry White. If she's still there after the first verse, she know what she's there for. Advice from my daddy. ;)
