Back in the 1980s my band Any Two Words performed a song I'd written called "The Guitar That Killed Jacques Brel"
The lyrics described -- in humorous confabulation with lots of poetic license -- an event that a friend swore to me was true, although he'd only heard it from a stranger and I've never been able to find any substantiation...but my friend bought one of those lucite Ampeg Dan Armstrong electric guitars second-hand from a guy who insisted that he played that guitar onstage at a recital that Jacques Brel attended, and that during the performance Mr. Brel had a heart attack!

The song Candle In The Wind is unique in that it was originally written about a famous person and redone to honor a different person

Although her name is not mentioned in the title; originally, Candle In The Wind by Elton John was about Marilyn Monroe. When Elton redid the song, it was to honor Princess Diana.

Also, the song Diana by Bryan Adams was about Princess Diana.
