Songs with cool screams in them

Discussion in 'Recordings [BG]' started by volker, Jun 18, 2005.

  1. Hi!

I heard Joe Cocker's song "When The Night Comes" on the radio a few days ago, and I remarked it has a couple of terrific screams in it - very !

What other songs are there with someone doing that kinda stuff in them? Anyone have any favourites?

+1. And how about the MIJ live version of Deep purple's "Strange Kind of Woman" (or quite a few other Purple numbers, for that matter)?

Won't get fooled again may be the best. I don't think anyone could properly cover that song due to that scream.

Nick Oliveri has some awesome screaming abilites in everything he does.

There is an old ass Slayer song where dude screams at a ridiculously high pitch. It actually sounds like a volume swell on guitar at first.

Or maybe the old Micheal Jackson song where he is all like, "Hoooooooo." You know, the King of Pop?

  7. 'Anthem' all the way... :bassist:

  8. I like the screamy sorta harmony during the lead on "Wheel in the Sky" by Journey.
Also, any Judas Priest stuff. Name it.

  9. Oh yeah, Number of the Beast.

Captain Beefhart had some gnarly scream/noises in his day. And I've always respected Frank Black's scream.

And Tom from Slayer, yeah, of course.

And Tool's ticks and leeches, in the last minute and a half, "SUCK ME DRY" and then the outro, is pretty hardcore screaming, even for Tool.

  19. Thee, good call!

    Tool- Jerk Off
    Tool- Ticks and Leeches
    Slipknot- sic
    Superjoint Ritual -4 songs
