What would happen if a folk duo hired a loud, aggressive power trio to back them on a studio recording? That's what Philadelphia-area folk duo Soraia decided to find out this past month...looking to make a demo with a full band, the band's singer contacted the drummer in my band, Monkey House Inferno. After only two rehearsals, we went into the studio. Go to www.soraiamusic.com and check the three tunes out. I would recommend getting "Navajoe" first, and then the other two. Given the limitations we faced--only two rehearsals, the fact we had to tone down *our* sound a lot, etc.--I'm pretty pleased by the results. An interesting merger, if you will. But your feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!
