    Hey guys-

I'm putting together a band, and I kinda want it to be a blend of soul/funk/blues....all that good stuff. Any suggestions of some cool covers to work on at our first rehearsal? Just some fun stuff to play while we get the feel of the group.

    Thanks!

Well, here's some songs we play in our Pep Band:

    Soulfinger
    Soul Man
    Peter Gunn
    Louie Louie
    Green Onions
    Low Rider

And some other songs I like:
    Hold On, I'm Coming
    Pick Up the Pieces
    Let's Get it On
    Sexual Healing
    Brick House
    Take Me to the River
That's a very short list, there are so many others. Hope you have a good horn section!

PS: Almost forgot, you can't go wrong with any James Brown.

Gallien Krueger for the last 12 years!
    * "Rock Steady" - Aretha Franklin
    * "Sing A Simple Song" - Sly & the Family Stone
"Down On The Corner" - CCR
"Papa Don't Take No Mess" - James Brown

*-These are great audience songs as well. There are part that you can get the audience to sing along to.
