Sould I sell my soul for a Fodera??

Discussion in 'Basses [BG]' started by Psycho Funk, Nov 16, 2002.

  1. Played a used Monarch 4 in mint shape just for fun and now I've got that bad feeling I 'm going to have to buy one. What an instrument! Feel/sound/weight I loved it.

I have a pre EB Stingray that I've had for 20 years that just may have to go...

Please someone talk me out of this.............

  3. I know. I know.

Sorry but I just can't get used to a grafite neck on the Zon

I just sold an MTD 535 to get my Emperor. I don't regret it a bit. Guess I'm not doing a good job of talkin' you out of it though, am I?;)

That's odd. I just got a Zon, and the neck didn't take any "getting used to." It plays on par with my Laklands, which have the best necks I've played.

I sold a few pieces to get a Fodera. I wouldn't do it again. The first one was OK but not great so I got another and it was OK too. There's a lot of great basses out there that do "it" as well or better.

  8. Thanks alot Bass7755 that really helps.
Munji, nothing against Zons but I tried a few and just like the feel of the necks.

Peter, that's what I was looking for.

im kinda with Peter Parker on this-
i traded an MTD 535 EVEN for a beautiful Fodera Monarch 5- i know, that only happens once in a lifetime-- but hey, guess what- the fella that got the MTD ws happy with the trade!!- ( Hi, Mike!)
i wound up not keeping the Fodera- got an offer i couldnt refuse-
i do love them , well SOME.. but selling my soul?? no way.. they are fantastic basses, but more than that- they have mastered the art of keeping a hi value when there are other basses that are just as good- in fact- the Emperor i had for a minute didnt do it for me at all- and it was a looker!!
great bass, not worth a soul...

Even if you find a way to pay for a fodera dont sell a probally great clasic bass youve had for 20 years.

Regret is the most important thing to avoid in life.

My first Fodera is my fav. Does not look as good as
number 2 (and it has Duncan jazz pickups). But.. I love this bass!! I have had this one for more than 2 years. Its not just OK its fantastic...ZERO
flaws. Plays like a dream and sounds great!!

Thanks Adrian, I'm feeling better now. I'll be Ok by tomorrow.

  13. Ouch. I just saw Dan's bass. That's a beauty.

Well.....I'll keep the Old 'Ray and sell everything else... there's an idea.

Hey Psycho...Thanks!! Here is number 2.
Spalted top, Mohogany body and dual Aero
pickups. I am thinking about selling this one(I have got to be nuts!!!!). They could only make 3 tops out of this piece of Spalted Maple!!
BTW.........Don't sell your soul....I did.... and I have
    to wash dishes for life.....

Regret is key. Once the Ray is gone, it's gone.
