just discovered some mp3's of tunes i recorded for Jerry Lopez's cd - my ex musical director- formerly with Ricky Martin and now with Marc Anthony i played an MTD 635- i was very happy with the results- the tracks i played on were
    Angels
    Negrita
Yo no quiero que te vayas
as you can see , its a latin flavored thing.. it was very cool to be on a cd with the likes of Bill Champlain (Chicago) , Larry williams ( Quincy Jones)and Ronnie Foster ( George Benson). etc...- a lot of LA heavies on there- how i got on , i dont know!!
anyways, the point of the post is to show what MTD sounds like in a session- heres the page..

    Adrian,
Thanks for the link to the Jerry Lopez CD.

I've been curious about what other work he's done after hearing him nail that Champlin-vocal-vibe on the "Mayday" CD. He sings a tune that you'd swear was Champlin (until Bill sings the next verse)

The bass playing ain't bad either :)

you know Jerry?? cool- he was my MD in STORM- great guy- a brother to me- Mayday was Jerry and Eddie Garcia ( no relation) who was Storms drummer for the first 8 months- and Roschon Westmoreland who is probably the baddest bassist in Vegas--

Adrian, I'm guessing you've got the "Mayday" CD then...the bass solo is one of the best I've ever heard - everything from thumb playing, to scat and everything in between.

(If you don't have the CD, send me a PM and I'll get you a copy)

i got it- Roschon is a badass- he plays with Clint Homes here in Vegas- he also tour with the Four Tops- he has it all- great groove and solo chops- hes my fave here in Vegas-- we did a version of " Satisfaction" from that cd- we had a babd called the Sofa Kings and then with Ronnie Foster we had Fat City -- Jerry is roughing out right now in Honolulu with Marc Anthony- my heart goes out to him...
by the way- thats Roschon on the "San Diego" clip

Sounds great Adrian! Excellent Tumbao man!

I've been coming to Las Vegas every six months for several years now. A couple of years back, I saw Roschon with a band called Santa Fe at one of the Station Casinos. Awesome groover and slapper... He is indeed a excellent player and soloist.

Ok, that's it. I'm an MTD convert. They're not available in Singapore though.

BTW, the backing vocalist sounds very much like Mike Lindup of Level 42.
