Soundcard to amp

Discussion in 'Amps and Cabs [BG]' started by PwX-Steve, Mar 24, 2001.

  1. hey,
a few nights ago i did some experimenting with my soundcard.
and i found i could run a lead from my soundcard to the Pwr amp input jack.
I have a peavey tnt 115 with a scorpian speaker (which im not happy about!)

and the sound card im using is a Cystal WDM audio.

iv got it linked up like this

PC - Soundcard - 1/8 to 1/4 jack converter - 12ft Guitar lead - PWR AMP IN on the Peavey.

with a bit of stuffing around on the EQ settings in winamp it sounds better than any other stero system in my house. Not only that i get a lot more bass and what not.

i was wondering if i would be causeing any harm to the amp itself by doing this.

I don't think it would harm anything. But I hope you realise that, while it may sound better than any stereo system in your house, it's a mono system! ;)
  3. yeh i new it was mono but it sounds so cool!
    it beats pc speakers
