If you had to make a cd that summed up your life what and who would be on it. What would be the song that represented all the high and low points in your life.

I got sent one of those stupid tests where you hadda write peoples names and songs and numbers
turns out the way i view life is summed up by "substitute" by the who
when i thought about it it seemed appropriate........ :meh:
But as far as a whole CD i would say Matthew Sweet's "girlfriend"

  6. Fire on a Mountain by Marshall Tucker Band would be on there, not to mention a few tracks off of Curtis Mayfield's "Superfly" (Freddie's Dead at least, that one owns)

Those are two of my all time favorites, strangely enough.

it will for sure open with "No Myth" by Michael Penn. mostly instrumented with Medeski, Martin and Wood being groovy with "Hypnotized" and "Chubb Sub" and the like mixed with random Peter Gabriel.... the Turmoil section will break with a frenzy and Blind Melon's "I Wonder" then drift with self realisation.... maybe some Nickel Creek, or something else New Grass / Folk like... or Sarah McLachlin

I see a Sade or Seal intermission followed by some more MMW (Take Me Nowhere, Nocturne, etc), with Soul Coughing and Fiona Apple filling it out. I'd love Lenny Kravitz to do the outro.... while the credits roll. Something mid careerish all sappy and R&B maybe even covering Mayfield's "Cannot Find a Way".... yeah, "Cannot Find a Way" as a duet of sorts with Billy Martin on percussion and Lenny K singing lead and playing bass with Remy Shand on backups & keys with my bud Aug on electric guitar...

    :bassist: yeah, that'll work :bassist:

Osama, reason bass, while I'm sure you are nice guys, I sincerely doubt you guys are THAT complex. :smug:

For me, I'd say some crappy emo stuff (just not Dashboard, for the love of all things holy, not Dashboard).
  19. Wait, I think my music would fit the soundrack to my life really well, since I made it.

First of all, Shaft theme.

Then a bunch of gospel and funk like Kirk Franklin, Fred Hammond, Jamiroquai, Earth Wind and Fire, and a some jazz, like the Yellowjackets, Marcus Miller, Gerald Veasley, Zoot Sims, Dave Weckyl Band maybe even some Miles and Monk.

Then finally some film scores for the more intense moments, like the Superman soundtrack and Lord of the Rings.
