Yes! I've actually been spending some time with them today. Awesome! We need more for this thread considering the depth of the pedal.

I'm surprised not many are posting settings considering the magnitude of these pedals. I started the orbital settings thread hoping it take off. I think we're all still discovering these pedals. Well, I am anyway.

After spending some time with the manta today I've finally got a grasp of the layout. Much easier to get usable tones now. And that drive section is really good, adds texture/nuance to the sound. I like it!

I really like zwkoch phaser setting,
I'll post some settings I'm finding uses for when I start doing that. Figuring out the layout is key though.

Sorry, might take another day or 2 on this.

  8. I'm still betwixt the BEF pro and the manta. I own the BEF pro but I'm enamored by the size and drive function of the manta. I feel like I'm finally getting a grasp on controlling the pro and the transition should be easy since I own 2 other sb2 pedals.

I suppose I'm just wondering if anyone who owns both could help steer me.

John K has both. Others have owned both at one time or the other.

If you have a Hub in your future, the SB2 is nice. BEF Pro is still a killer unit. Manta has replaced the BEF Pro on our board because of physical space and Hub considerations.

  13. Hey guys, I've got kind of a dumb question..

For those of you running a Manta are you running it in to FX loop on your amp? Or do you plug bass directly into pedal and then pedal to amp's instrument input?

I do bass>manta>amp. Of course I have it on my board in a loop. But that's the way id do it. I'm sure the pedal is set to the impedance of being plugged into the input not the send.

Are these on sale anywhere? Seems SA pedals are full price everywhere!! I am hoping to jump on one soon.

As a constant deal hunter who is always much happier to buy used stuff to avoid paying retail prices, I jumped all over buying the three SA pedals I have brand new for full price. You won't find any better bang for the buck and I was able to replace much more expensive pedals with the OFD OM and manta so it was almost like making money ;)

That said, there's a few pedal sites that always have 10-15% off deals and a couple of them the SA line. You shouldn't have a problem.

  17. Manta showed up today. Less then an hour later a neighbor asked me if I was trying to communicate with my home planet...?

so far I'm having fun. so many settings... so little time!

oof. you know, i just nailed the tone i wanted for a song we did (Gratrunka here - http://www.BloodPartyBand.com/music ) and haven't delved as much as i should have into the Manta.

Ragnarok Smitty And Crew were nice enough to get me a preproduction version to do that recording with (so awesome), and i haven't got around to getting a Finished 'Un yet. soooooon.

but yeah. this is such a good pedal.

This has probably been asked, but can I set the Manta to do an admirable bass-wah with an expression pedal?

Im looking for a vowel sounding preset. I made one which I will share later today when I get home. Anyone have something similar? Im looking for a Alien Robot type voice, no hot hand.
