    Got a couple I just whipped up using the expression pedal! :bassist:
    It's very easy to get significant changes in the sound by small movements of the Depth and Freq controls, so play around, and have some fun!

    Yi-I-I-I
    Filter #9 w/EXP
    Depth - 2:00
    Freq - 2:00
    Res - 1:00
    Mix - fully counter-clockwise (lo-retain)
    Volume - 12:00
    Drive - 10:00
    Type - #5

    W-W-Whoa! (very bon jovi talkbox)
    Filter #8 w/EXP
    Depth - 1:00
    Freq - 12:00
    Res - 12:00
    Mix - fully counter-clockwise (lo-retain)
    Volume - 12:00
    Drive - 10:00
    Type - #4

    Play around with these settings and levels, and let mw know what you think!

    I asked this same question awhile back, here's the exchange, please pardon the formatting. Thanks to smallequestrian for the reply:

    My question is, will one of these 24 filters allow the Manta to be used as a standard wah with the expression pedal, like the BEF Pro did? It's mostly curiosity and future planning - at this point I've already decided a Manta is in my near future! Thanks!
    Reply:
    With the SA Dual expression pedal you can manually control the frequency sweep. The number 6 setting when in extended mode gives you a band pass filter, similar to a lot of guitar wahs, which combined with the expression pedal gets you there.

    Rather than trying to shoehorn the Manta to sound like a regular old standard wah, consider that you can make the Manta sound like a zillion different wahs by using the expression to sweep the frequency.

    * Super peaky resonant
    * Subtle
    * Vowely
    * Like no wah you've ever heard before. :)

    Yep and certainly the BP filter setting is the best bet to do something more standard sounding. I had a blast using it when I was beta testing the unit.

    Earlier in the week I grabbed a BEF Pro and MBWD........but I just found a steal on a Manta and an Orbital. Can't decide if I want to head toward MIDI or not, so better to be safe than sorry.

    I really need to see if I can get myself banned from the TB Effects board. I could save a lot of money !

    I have been using mine for its distortion mainly and for its EQ sweep. One preset is for the dub sounds. The other after many trials to find a filter that's usable in my church, I settled on a fuzz with no filter engaged and dry lo retain blended in my signal. Gets really close to the Muse 'time is running out' sound. I swept the frequency and played the track side by side so I could get nearly dead on, I'll see if I can figure out the exact settings but man it just made my day!!

    Does the Manta have a Step Sequencer like the BEF Pro? I don't see it mentioned in the manual. If it doesn't, I'll be all like :bawl:

    Can anyone shed any light on how well the Manta functions as a phaser? No distortion, no envelope filter. How does it compare to, say, the phasers on the Orbital Modulator?

    IMO you can get some of the same phaser sounds out of the manta as you can the orbital. I actually use one of my presets on the manta as a phaser. Works very good.

    No programmable sequencer, sorry. You do have a bunch of LFO, and the ability to blend them, as well as blend the envelope with the LFO which I don't recall if the BEF Pro could do.

    Another thought...would there be a way to program a step sequencer on the Manta via an external MIDI controller? For example, using an iPad with Genome MIDI Sequencer?
