The Woodnut guy might have some (www.woodnut.com).
I don't see it listed on his site, but maybe he's just showin' his fancy stuff online...
    Larry doesn't have any?

or try eBay. There's a guy on there I've bought some nice padauk from, and I believe he's got just about everything. Expensive shipping though, if I remember correctly. His name is Thoag.

    for what it's worth.

I've e-mailed Larry in the past about black walnut, and IIRC, he doesn't carry it.

Woodworker's Source has black walnut. I don't think I've been to a single local hardwood place around here that doesn't have it.

I keep hearing that I can get bk. walnut at hardware places. I've got Lowe's, Home Depot, Do It Best, and a few "Ma and Pa" Ace/True Values -- none of those places have it though.

Where did you hear that. I personally have never seen black walnut at any hardware store.

Wait, I misread Scott's post -- I thought it read "hardware," not "hardwood." :smug:

Unless I misread (which just happened) they'll mill the sides to your specs? Do they plane, too?

I've got some black walnut....What are you looking for? I have some 8/4 and 4/4......Some of the 8/4 is wide enough for 1 piece bodies......I have some massive slabs of 8/4. There may even be come curly black walnut in the "stash". I don't have a great deal (under 250bdft), but if you need something let me know, I may have what you need. I'm not a dealer, but I have a large inventory of many different woods for my business.....and I'll only charge for actual UPS ground.

    e-mail me....
