I'm looking for a genuine celluloid pickguard for a '62 Jazz in the old "red tort" style. Modern (PVC?) pickguards with (I'm assuming) fake patterns printed on them don't look right to me.

    Any leads?

The celluloid ones are a fake pattern as well. Meant to look like the polished shell of a dead turtle.

^^^ considering no Fender (or any other modern guitar) has ever come with a pickguard made of actual tortoise shells, I think most people will understand what we’re talking about here.

Try typing "celluloid pickguard" in your browser, and search away. I just did - and found more celluloid tort pickguards than I care to look at, personally. But, be sure you read about the dangers and drawbacks of nitrocelluloid, too. There are pretty good reasons this stuff isn't used much anymore...
