Anyone know where I can find an undrilled paddlehead jazz bass neck? I've looked all over eBay, but the only thing I find are partially-shaped "paddlehead" necks with pre-drilled tuner holes. I know pre-made stuff isn't very luthierish/bass builderish, but this is for a personal "mini project" -- I've got a pretty cool headstock design and I've always wanted a jazz bass. :smug: I know Warmoth has them, but I'd like something a bit more economically-friendly so I don't empty my "big project" funds on this "mini project."

Carvin has them. They're about $130 - 150. I hear Carvin makes good products, but I don't know.
  3. Warmoth, Stewart MacDonald, and All-Parts both offer fully blank paddle head necks.

Cmon Teej, aren't these sites on your "favorites" list? :eyebrow: :)

Actually, Warmoth and StewMac are (under the "Woods and Parts" sub-category), but not AllParts....... OK, now it is. :smug: I'm looking for something easy on the wallet ($167 is just over a paycheck), but since I'm getting the tuning keys and pickguard from War, I may as well save up a little more and get the neck from them, too.

BTW, nice litttle rhyme you have there, in your signature.
